Souplantation Night - Fundraiser

Wednesday, January 20th @ 5-8pm

 

 

 

 

 

Family Art Night

Friday, January 22nd @ 6:30-8:30pm

 

Spend an evening creating a masterpiece with your child.   You'll be able to choose ONE from three different projects (Eric Carle – Collage, Manet Flowers – oil pastels or Monet Bridge - paint.)

All ages can participate and take home a masterpiece.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  While this event is FREE, there will be a fundraiser – Chaparral Education Foundation (CEF) will be onsite taking orders for products like mugs, t-shirts, mousepads, etc. made from your child’s art work!  Orders will be placed on this night ONLY and money collected.  http://www.designkeepsake.com/ will give CEF 30% of each order!  It’s a great way to make a keepsake of your child’s art while also supporting our school!  Donations of cookies would be much appreciated.  You can drop these off in the PTA room on the morning of Friday, 1/22/10.   THANK YOU!!!

Melody Makers – Spring Registration

Due to the age and space limitations, Junior Melody Makers will be limited to 80 participants.

Registration will be on a first come first serve basis only.

Senior Melody Makers Spring Registration - (3-5 grades)

Forms will be sent home in Friday folders.

San Diego Blood Bank Blood Drive

January 27th @ 7:30am-12:30pm

 

Chaparral’s PTA is hosting a blood and bone marrow testing drive on Wednesday,

January 27^th from 7:30am–12:30pm in the front parking lot.  Appointments are required and can be made either online at www.mysdbb.org (select “make an appointment at a mobile blood drive” then enter sponsor code CPES) or by contacting Sue Sullivan @ suemariesullivan@gmail.com.

Yearbook Updates!

#1 - Photos Needed   #2 - Still Time to Order your Own!!

 

Please help me out and make sure YOUR child gets his or her well-deserved face-time in our 2009-2010 Chaparral Yearbook!  I’m still looking for photos from ALL school events!! (including Preschool, PEPP and Special Ed classes, too!)  Every photo helps!  Field trips, class parties, special projects, 5th Grade Band, Melody Makers, before or after-school special events, fitness club, P.E. / playground activities, Community Gatherings, Kids Korps, Art Corp, candid shots, etc!  I know each teacher/grade has their own special events and I’d love to include those photos too!

 

PHOTOS NEEDED FOR DEC 2009 & JAN 2010

December – Melody Makers, 5th Grade Band Concert, any other “Grade Specific Events” not listed on the events calendar.

January – Family Art Night, Kids Korp, and any “Grade Specific’ Events”.

 

* Requirements:  I need INFO please: The more you give, the better!  If possible I’d like grade level, teacher’s name, name of event, approx. date or month taken and your child’s name in particular so I can be sure to include them.  Please include your name and email so I can contact you if I need too.  Digital photos work best: Please don’t tamper with resolution or dimension of the photos. The larger the file size, the better!  Photos smaller than 250kb may turn out grainy, and may be unusable.  I cannot guarantee I will use the photos you send.  The more you send me, the better the chances I’ll use them!  If you can’t give me a digital photo I’ll take other forms, though it’s not recommended.  If you give me a C.D. or an original photo and you’d like to get it back please let me know.  I will do my best to make sure you get it. 

 

I can take photos thru mid March.  Thanks in advance for helping me to create a great Yearbook this year!

Ordering Yearbooks

 

Yearbooks are still available, but only while supplies last!  Don’t miss out on your opportunity to have your very own!  The cost is $29.00 per book.  Yearbooks will be delivered in time for your kids to gather friends signatures if they wish.  I cannot guarantee you’ll receive a book if your order is not placed before March, when the final count will be taken.

Lost & Found

Is your child missing a sweater, jacket, lunch box, backpack, or water bottle? All of our lost and found items are neatly arranged inside of our front gates for your review. Please check for any lost items as soon as possible, as we will donate all leftover items to the Goodwill.
